We were delighted to welcome back the Royal Navy for an engaging and inspiring STEM workshop as part of our Women in Science week and to compliment our science and careers curriculum.
The session began with an informative talk about the vital role of the Royal Navy and the wide range of careers available, giving students a real insight into future opportunities. The Q&A session was a particular highlight, with thoughtful questions and enthusiastic participation throughout.
Students were then treated to an exciting hands-on workshop exploring forces in action, discovering how air resistance and gravity are instrumental in flight. Applying their new knowledge, they designed and created paper helicopters before taking part in a challenge to see whose helicopter performed best. The competition was fierce, and we had three very worthy winners! MA.
